CLUSTER
PRE SCHOOL

In&out

Based on the structure of small villages in rural areas we propose a system that echoes that “familiar” and safe” feeling. Due the small scale of the school in a vast agricultural land, the new pavilions create a a new human scale, a cluster that provides not only with indoor isolated spaces  but also with a residual space in-between. An outdoor playground guarantee shadow, visual surprises and a place to run and hide in&out. An amalgama of small alleys and patios  where children can play and learn outdoors.

Growth | adaptability looking for flexibility

A system that can be export to another location no matter size, scale or terrain.  2 sizes pavilions (7x7 and 10x10) can be placed in many orientations creating a new relation between themselves and its surroundings.

Construction | sustainability

Avoiding the standard rectangular shape of a classroom, we propose a square, four walls than can be used entirely, adding flexibility of use in any direction or activity. The square is broken in the corners providing natural indirect light, access and cross ventilation. The upper body is made of wooden structure beams in 2 directions and wooden sticks enclosed the space letting sunlight and airflow move freely.

Water issue

Kitchen and latrines pavilions are equipped with a structure water tank storage, avoiding any hydraulic methods, an inverted roof pyramid-shaped drive the water into the tank where is storage ,  ready for use. The rest of the complex drive the water through canalization to the underground storage tank where is filter and storage. A small bump provides with clean water.
