TRANSITIONS
LIBRARY  IN A FOOD MARKET

An unpleasant, dirty, poorly maintained, and disconnected environment. A space where the car is the main protagonist, giving rise to a public space of little value that impacts the businesses located on the ground floor. A dark and gloomy place that offers little appeal to pedestrians.

We propose an architecture that solves the urban challenge with a central strategy. More than an object in itself, we seek to interact through a series of transitional spaces between the two that enrich human interaction.

In this way, cores, entrances, porches, semi-open areas, balconies, and alleys become the project's tools.

Due to the difference in elevation, we propose the partial demolition of the slab at different levels to create a vertical connection with the outer public ring road.

The alleys are incorporated into the project as an extension of the interior program, an access anteroom that promotes the emergence of new uses.

Finally, the façade. Due to the proximity of the adjacent buildings, which lack visual or architectural quality, a veil of vegetation is proposed. A habitable, ventilated façade, a green cushion that offers a new landscape for both the residents and the users of the new library.
