White sand, beach, palm trees and the sea. the plot is located in a small town 5km from the coast in the island of Domican Republic. A permanent residence for a family who wants to enjoy the island without going out from home.

Due to the warm weather conditions almost the whole year (20-35º),we chose to design a house that can breath with the envirorment. Instead of a monolitic block, We break the house, dividing in individual units disperse on the place and linked through the open porch. The natural elements (beach, palms and water) became an amalgama of interconected exterior-interior spaces offering surprises. It is a house that changes the perception of the users while passing through.

The swimming pool is placed in one of the sides of the plot connected to the rooms. It is a spa more than a pool, with different levels, and its geometry creates a landscape with private zones in the same time that the water element is integrated inside the house.  A palm grove with beach sand form the core of the house, the social place required for parties and bbq.

"A budget house of 500m2" required the client. The challenge here was how to create a house of 500m2 with almost nothing, only "air" and palm trees. It is a spacial aproach, a relation between elements. Using local materials (stuco+wood) and sostainable construction technics (cross ventilation) we erase any superflous decoration and extra cost in the same time that we create an "TROPICAL EDEM".
