More and more coffee and tea plantation are growing in the area of Yunnan near the border with Myanmar. They are transforming the natural topography and creating a new one, step the mountain for keeping the water.

The client wanted to build a landmark in the top, a place for degustation, lecturing and staying for few nights. The whole experience surrounding by plantations and amazing views to the mountains.

Our proposal is a double tape that follows the slope and terrain closing itself. An up and down as a part of the mountain to be walked and offering 360` views. It’s a general piece of architecture, more a landscape that crown the mountain.

 

2 slabs and a transparent skin as a main material.

 

A second proposal was asked. Something more tangible and ionic with very clear function’s location. Here the building is part of the mountain, buried creating a slope full of gardens that take people to the observation platform.  Individual rooms will be located in 2 sides of the slope offering different views.
