A PIECE OF THE CITY
HOTEL

Few km from Gaoyou city next to the lake a private company is developing a complex of housing, hotel and another facilities in a artificial park where 10.000 local species will be planted.

Zooming in all around we found fields,Gaoyou lake, the big channel and the old town of Gaoyou city. WE are in charge of design for the hotel that is located in the middle of the complex surrounding by water. Client s requirements are an iconic architecture but following the elements of the old city. Conference hall, spa, restaurants, catering, club and rooms as main program.

The type of user is the key of the design.  Group of bussiness man and normal families. We create 2 scenarios based in vernacular architecture. A core like a piece of the city, a cluster of Patios provide an outdoor space for parties and bbq to bussines groups, an intimate space, more private and hidden. In the other hand, standard rooms will be located in the perimeter as a wall protecting the inside and offering views to the lake and surroundings.
